It's been a couple of weeks, but here I am once again to bring you the information you need to hold our city accountable. Council has been off for two weeks due to this being a five Monday month, so the last time they met was the full council meeting on the 17th. Interestingly, and I'm sure this was a mistake, the minutes of that meeting are not available. Instead, what you find when you look through the list of "Council Materials" are duplicate copies of that night's agenda

It turns out that the City of Newark finally posted the minutes for the meeting on the 3rd, but I already shared the video for such anyway. Also interesting is that the very inconsistent Newark Board of Education shared minutes from their meeting on the 27th of December (no minutes for the January 7th meeting), and it is probably the most vague document I have seen from any level of government so far. Due to the meeting I had to participate in for the 99% of Newark and East Central Ohio - wherein we reflected on the defeat of the Democracy Day initiative in November and resolved to press forward with an extended educational effort and outreach to the community -, I missed last Tuesday's Council Meeting. It looks like I've had a bad streak of luck over the past 6 months, because I've missed more meetings during this period than during the previous 2 years. Unfortunately, I have to miss tonight's council meeting since it conflicts with another meeting that I'm attending.
