Possible Action from City Council Looming on Creating a Charter Review Study Group for Nonpartisan E
There have been somewhat-exciting developments in my push for City Council to create a Charter Review Study group. After I sent out my email to City Council, the following exchanges – via email – occurred (text left in original format):

when. Is there a specific action needed
to get this started? Bill

The Charter actually says that City Council has to create one. I thank you, sincerely, for your speedy response. :)

Daniel, I talked to Doug Sassen today about whether this had to go through council or not. It does but I was not aware of that. I'll get together with Doug next week about putting together a piece of legislation setting up a study group. I'm willing to be involved, but not in charge. Hopefully, this will come to committees in 2 weeks.
Thanks, Carol
So, it appears that we may see action or an attempt at action on this in the coming weeks. In fact, we could see this appear on the agenda as soon as the Committee meeting on September 25th. I will monitor the issue and report when anymore developments arise.
Stay tuned.
