You will notice that there are now documents available from the school board that weren’t previously on the website this time last week. Due to me trying to visit as many citizens as possible for my campaign I forgot to look at the Newark City Schools Calendar instead of just relying on whether or not the agenda was published via the website. So, I missed this past meeting as a result, which won’t happen again since I have taken note of the next handful of regular board meetings.
Either way, I hope to be effective in promoting enhanced transparency with our school board. I don’t believe that it is intentional that these documents aren’t made available in a convenient period of time, but I do believe it is democratically burdensome in the age of the internet.
