Under the second section for citizens’ comments:

I spoke, first in opposition to the potential privatization of fire services, and then to proudly announce that the initiative to give Newark’s citizens a chance to support the movement to amend our nation’s constitution - in response to the Citizens United ruling – had made it to the ballot. Then, two citizens spoke in favor of Council bringing back some transparency in the form of itemizing council agendas so that the people may see what our money is being spent on.

Under Miscellaneous comments:

From the Administration, Nothing notable.

Law Director: Nothing.

Mayor Hall: Nothing.

Council:

Other than the usual, Johnson remarked that although he had voted against the proposed tax levy on council, he would work hard to help it pass in November. President Ellington remarked that council will work on the request for more transparency. Council adjourned at 7:15pm.
